Biography

My Background

Over the past 20 years I’ve been a senior leader involved in programme management, commissioning and performance management and communications and patient and carer engagement across a broad range of business sectors including the public, private and voluntary sector. My last corporate role was a Board Director with a wide programme portfolio, providing leadership in one of the largest NHS organisations in the country with a budget of over £1.2bn. From this I was identified nationally as an ‘NHS Top Leader’. I was also a freelance journalist and publicist for five years, writing for national and local newspapers. Communication in all its forms has been running like a thread throughout my career.

I trained as a coach and a supervisor and found that working one-to-one with individuals and having conversations that really matter is what is most important to me. I therefore undertook further training as an integrative psychotherapeutic counsellor with UKCP. I provide coaching, supervision and training. I no longer practice as a counsellor, though my coaching and supervision have a therapeutic edge, so I maintain my status, membership and ethical stance as a therapist.

In addition, I was the Interim Head of Coaching for Ambition School Leadership, providing coaching leadership, expertise and advice to shape the future of Ambition School Leadership’s coaching approach. They (renamed Ambition Institute) then commissioned me as the Expert Coaching Consultant for a further two years to continue to support and guide their coaching work.
